Wall Streets Present Shame

They were promised,”If you but vote for me,
I ‘ll be a model of transparency.”
Told,”Education’s the answer to all,
The god of all issues; both big and small.”

That,”Government’s here to serve one and all,
where your parents fail; She’ll answer the call.”
Told,”Hist’rys all wrong: and We are all right.”
Then broke ev’ry promise out in plain sight.

Now they are angry just not sure at ‘who’.
With no idea of what they can do.
If governments ‘god’ and now has failed us,
their wondering who is it we can trust?

So they stand in the streets voicing their ruse,
plethoric sound in a manner obtuse.
Like cutting your nose off to spite your face,
spoiled generation taking up space.

Mean while those who promised, lied through their teeth
about all the ‘blessings’ they would bequeath;
stand in the shadows while others take blame;
all this they perform in government’s name.

  1. I’m not a poet, but if I were, I’d be envious of this one. Awesome. Bravo. Kudos. Great.
