Oral Roberts 1918-2009

He’s with his “darling Evelyn” now
as well as with the Lord.
Gone on ahead to celebrate
and receive a rich reward.

I’m sure Grandma will welcome him
with all those who held him dear.
Yet he has left an empty place
for all those of us left here.

I know that all did not love him
so you may; say what you will.
But also tell how many times
God has used your hands to heal.

I recall as a little girl
on his Sunday morning show;
the many, many miracles
and how he would let us know;

“God is the same  yesterday and
today and for evermore;
God is good and for His own has
many good things laid in store.”

He’s finished his race; kept his faith
and now is laid up for him;
a blessed home with Jesus Christ
and his darling Evelyn.

    I, too, loved Oral Roberts. He was not only a man of God, but also a gentleman.

    One may find oneself back on this page. For what occurred las night at at either 11:32PM or 12:32 AM EST may have taken one by total surprise.

    One may have been looking at one’s tags on one’s latest blog from yesterday. When one may have clicked on “Anointing” one may have found this featured article.

    One may not have been aware that Oral Roberts had passed away. One may not watch the news or much television for that matter. One may have been saddened. One may have decided to google “Oral Roberts” and may have been led to an article by a CNN reporter. One hesitated before reading it.

    One opened the article and the facts were laid before one. One may have read about Oral Roberts plea to receive 8 million dollars to send medical missionaries overseas. The Lord had commissioned Oral to raise the money or literally die (be taken home to heaven).

    Oral not only raised the money but exceeded the required amount. He was able to raise 9.1 million dollars for the cause. One may have said to the Lord, “I believe him” with tears running down one’s face. This single act of faith may have been so awesome. Not only did God fulfill the need but exceeded it.

    Ephesian 3:20-21 – 20. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think , according to the power that worketh in us,
    21. Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

    One may remember this happening as a young person. One did not understand it at the time. One had heard second hand of this request and heard the scoffers complain. One may know and see that it was God and that Oral Roberts was faithful even to the point of the ridicule that the world may have dished out. Carnal man cannot receive or discern the things of God.

    Oral Roberts was a mighty man of God and the Lord blessed him with long life upon this land and everlasting in the here after.

    One may look forward to the day that one can give Jesus a big hug for opening one’s understanding concerning this man of faith. One may want to also give Oral Roberts a hug for being simply awesome in demonstrating tremendous faith. May one always remember this and let it be an awesome example of obedience unto God.

    In His undying love,
    Yona
