If I could roll this fury up
into a tight-knit ball;
I’d drop it in a deep dark pit
of bitterness and gall.

Those rancid acids would destroy
it to the very core;
so I could face tomorrow with
out anger anymore.

Then I’d unfurl the tentacles
that’s held joy captive;
so once again in peace and love
my battered soul could live.
